How to Use Resume Synonym
How to Use Resume SynonymHave you ever wondered what a resume synonym is? These are words or phrases that are commonly used in resumes. They're used to help us organize the resume so we can determine which job opportunities are the best for us. The best way to do this is to separate those career opportunities into different categories. We can also do this by career. In order to get the most out of your resume, you need to have a head start on your competition. You may also want to make a list of a few other words or phrases you may want to use in your resume. This will help you determine which resume synonym to use.One synonym you'll want to use is 'preferred.' This is a category that will allow you to highlight a number of skills and talents you have. It will help you emphasize that you are an excellent choice for the position you are applying for. It's best if you use this term when describing a weakness. In addition, it is one place where you can draw attention to your accomplishme nts.Another synonym that is often used is 'immediate.' This phrase is often used to emphasize the fact that you are immediately qualified for the position. People always think that having to wait will prove you are not qualified. But the truth is that with instant skills, you'll be given an immediate response from employers. These skills will then allow you to meet the demands of the position quickly.'Skilled'skilled' are also synonyms used in resumes. If you are looking for a position that requires extensive training or education, it may be helpful to use these terms in your resume. Other than that, it's best to leave this word or phrase for the most experienced positions.Another common resume synonym is 'highly skilled.' This is a good choice when you have a lot of skills but have not gained much experience. Instead of having an entire paragraph dedicated to your work ethic, highly skilled skills can be used. Your words will definitely be geared towards the work ethic and organiza tional skills that you have.Another favorite resume synonym is 'prominent.' You can use this when you have a certain occupation in the community or are highly popular. When it comes to this type of job, it is best to use the term 'prominent' when you are top-notch. A resume that highlights the fact that you are the center of attention can lead to a favorable reaction from employers. After all of these, you may find that you are stuck using the necessary resume synonym. Make sure you understand why you are using them. Be aware of what your competitors are using as well. Some employers may be able to determine who you are based on how you use these terms. It is best to be yourself when applying for a job.

Curiosity, collaboration, consulting Your future career - Debut
Curiosity, collaboration, consulting Your future career - Debut Kantar Consulting will be fast-tracking a limited amount of candidates to telephone interview for the analyst role in the next few days. Keep an eye on the Debut app to see if you have been Talent Spotted for this exclusive opportunity! Consulting You may be wondering what this role actually involves. Well, what if we told you that not only is it one of the most varied jobs out there, but that you learn a whole bunch of skills from it? And if that wasnât enough, anyone from any degree background can get involved. Provided youâre curious, willing to learn and able to balance different projects, of course. We chatted to two employees from the company Kantar Consulting Hjalti Rognvaldsson, Consultant and Claudia Bhugra-Schmid, Senior Consultant all about their roles and the opportunities theyâve been presented with during their careers. If youâre interested in several roles or industries and are having a hard time deciding where to specialise, then consultancy may be the right path for you, as youâll be able to explore multiple areas at once! What exactly is consulting? In short, consultancy firms work with other companies to help them solve problems, drive business and come up with new and innovative strategies designed to help them grow. These implemented strategies are often designed to help businesses reach long-term goals and targets. As Kantar Consulting is a global business â" with offices in London, New York, Amsterdam, Singapore and more the client list is extremely varied. One day you might be coming up with innovation strategies for a major toy company, and the next you may be examining how customers engage with fashion. Others industries that they serve in include Professional Services, Food Drink, Finance, Health Wellness and Automotive. Youâll have the chance to work in a sector that interests you, but youâll also have the opportunity to experience something new. As Hjalti puts it; âNo day is ever the same and no project is ever the same. We work hard and we have a lot of fun!â To be clear, businesses donât hire consultancy firms because they already know all the answers. They want to find out why and how to get to the bottom of any problems that arise. Theyâre in need of qualified advisors who will not only help them through difficult challenges, but learn what works for them to use in the future. These advisors need to be curious about more than just the clients; they need to be curious about the sector in which they operate, their customers and the commercial environment at the time. All these factors combined is what makes a consultant a valued expert to clients. Collaboration is also key in a business like this â" both internally and externally. Consultants need to work together to produce results and find out exactly what specifications their clients are looking for. Claudia elaborates on the impact of this; âThis is a business thatâs entirely based on people. Weâre selling our thinking, so you learn how to best manage people, how to take care of one another, how to motivate a team and how to get the best work from them.â Why should I consider a role in consulting? If youâre curious to try out a variety of skills in your day-to-day work, then consultancy should be high on your list. Although the job is known for logical elements like researching and analysis, it may come as a surprise to know that such a role is also extremely creative, with lots of projects revolving around strategising, writing and presenting compelling stories and coming up with innovative ways for businesses to win in the future. Claudia explains how her preconceived idea of consultants were people who wear grey suits and only do boring work. But her role has proved to be the exact opposite: âI work in the Human Cultural Insight team, exploring trends in culture and peopleâs lives. I also work on âFuturesâ projects, building a view of what a clientâs business might look like in 5 or 10 years. And I love brand work, figuring out what a brand should stand for, how it should express itself. None of that involves wearing a boring grey suit!â Consultancy also involves a lot of communicating with clients; from educating them on new business trends, to building relationships on an ongoing basis. Even better, many clients are based internationally, so you may have the opportunity to travel on the job an extremely sought-after perk! Hjalti has been working on creating a Marketing Programme for one of the worlds largest Food Drink companies, designing the content and syllabus. He says: âWe work with them to decide what is absolutely crucial for their people to learn, then we develop the learning material both for eLearning as well as classroom teaching. In a couple of months, we will be going to their offices around Europe to deliver the training to over 1500 of their brand managers.â How can consultancy develop my career? Kantar Consulting are extremely committed to the progression of their employees. Graduates start on a competitive salary and are often promoted within a couple of years. With the nature of the role, consultancy attracts people from all walks of life, and Kantar Consulting is no different. The London office is incredibly multicultural, with employees from UK, India, France, Spain, and Iceland just to name a few. Consultancy roles offer a great learning opportunity to collaborate with people who have a different perspective, both professionally and personally. Working in consultancy also means being able to take away transferable skills that will continue to be of value throughout your professional career. From public speaking to a room full of clients, to being spontaneous and coming up with innovative ideas to help change a business. The vast range of abilities that you learn can be applied anywhere and everywhere. No matter your degree or sector preference, this role will bring a whole variety of work that will not only be of interest to you, but provide you with tangible skills that will allow you to take on any challenge that arises in the future. If youâre still on the fence about the world of consulting, hereâs some words of advice from Claudia: âJump in and have a go. Donât let any preconceptions you might have hold you back. Every consultancy will have a different USP, so thereâs no knowing whether it might be the right fit for you unless you have a look and see what theyâre all about.â We couldnât have said it any better ourselves!

Book review Smart mobs - The Chief Happiness Officer Blog
Book review Smart mobs - The Chief Happiness Officer Blog Stuffs changing all around us. New technologies are changing the way we work, interact and even how we conduct our courtship rituals. From I-mode services in Japan to the hitech millieu of Scandinavia to president-toppling demonstrations in Manilla to cyborgs in the US who want to merge body and machine. And much of this change goes unnoticed or is rapidly integrated in our lives and taken for granted. Imagine a group of people united in some cause. The cause can be anything from celebrity spotting in New York to anti-WTO demonstrations in Seattle. Now imagine the same group of people always connected to the net, to each other, always able to monitor opponents and competitors. Thats a smart mob. And trying to predict how people will act and interact when wireless networks, constant internet access, camera video phones etc. become widespread is the aim of this book, Smart Mobs: The Next Social Revolution by Howard Rheingold. One of the books central concepts is that these new technologies should be managed as common resources, ie. available equally to anybody, with all the advantages and pitfalls this entails. A common resource is prone to overuse by unscrupulous individuals, eg. the way internet is abused by spammers who can mainly operate because sending emails is virtually free. However, a common resource also comprises a fertile basis for innovation and development, the prime example of this being (again) the internet. Just look at all the services that exist on the internet, freely competing because nobody owns the net. The last few chapters of the book are rather bleak. Here Rheingold describes the negative scenarios. Constant digital surveillance. The entertainment industry managing to outlaw or heavily regulate file sharing and peer-to-peer networking. Big companies limiting the use of ?their? part of the internet to the services they provide. This is chilling reading, but it shows us where the fight is fought today, and what we must look out for. The book manages to be remarkably up-to-date, considering the fast-changing nature of its subject. Some examples of smart mobs that have emerged since the book came out is the Howard Dean presidential campaing in the US which is grass-roots driven via the net and Malaysia recognizing divorce by SMS. As Piet hein said, ?Its always difficult to make predictions, especially about the future?, but Rheingold manages to clearly lay out the driving principles and forces of many technologies and social trends. I recommend this book highly. Thanks for visiting my blog. If you're new here, you should check out this list of my 10 most popular articles. Food for Thought - Five things that are working Changing your perspective - Hallie Crawford
Food for Thought - Five things that are working Changing your perspective This is an addendum to an earlier post. In a recent (January 29, 2007) Time Magazine article entitled, The Brain: A users guide,â it talked about the power of your thoughts and the influence they have on your life and actual brain structure. (I couldnât help but notice how the Law of Attraction principles, as explained in the movie The Secret, continue to go mainstream. I love it!) Hereâs the bottom line from the article: Mental training has the power to change the physical structure of the brain. I find this fascinating! When I first heard about the Law of Attraction, I thought it was about being Pollyanna and saying everythings OK when it isnt. That didnt feel right. What Ive since learned is that its your attitude and your perception of something that makes all the difference (mental training). Its about looking at a situation in a way that enables you to work through it, see the silver lining, or move around it if its an obstacle. Try this experiment: First, write down 5 things that are working in your life. From your health, your job anything thatâs working well and you are grateful for. Starting by focusing on whatâs working gets your brain into a more positive mental state; an âattitude of gratitude.â Next, write down 5 things in your life that arenât working. Then ask yourself, is there anything good about these things? Could there possibly be a silver lining? Or are these things I need to work through or around, and how can I do that? As you examine the things that arenât working in your life, from a more positive mental place, you have an opportunity to change your perspective by changing your thinking. Itâs all about the power of your thoughts. Related links: Michael Losier Law of attraction Career Expert

Put the Keywords in Your Resume
Put the Keywords in Your ResumeKeywords in resume are considered essential. They will help you get the maximum number of job offers when applying for any job position. But how do you put them in your resume? Read on to find out what you should include in your resume. In addition to having these keywords on your resume, you need to consider the relevance of your keywords in a job search engine. Your resume may have keywords that are relevant to your job and other relevant keywords but your chances of getting more job offers are minimal. For this reason, it is necessary to use these keywords in your resume. Some key phrases that are frequently used by recruiters when reading resumes are: 'Interviewer requested', 'Additional Information Needed', 'Contact Name', 'Interview Invite', 'Interview Instructions', 'Job Location', 'High Priority Listing', 'Responsibilities', 'Role of Company'Work Experience'. These phrases indicate the sort of job that you might be doing at the company where you a re applying. These phrases are usually seen on the job ads of the companies that hire people for the specific positions you are applying for.Other than keywords in resume, there are other ways to make your resume more relevant to your work. It is recommended that you include a few lines of your work history and skills in your resume to help make your application more interesting and efficient. If you can add an attached photo of yourself, you will certainly impress your interviewer. One important phrase that you must have in your resume is 'Knowledge of Agency'. If you have done work for any agency or any organization which provides services to other clients, you are said to have this expertise. Most of the companies recruiters find this information very important because they prefer candidates who have experience in the field they are applying for. The best thing about this phrase is that it is very brief and will not be confusing in the resume. You can take up an English course or b uy some vocabulary books and learn English so that you can easily express yourself in written form. After you have learnt English, you can then insert the keywords in your resume and your chances of getting more job offers will greatly increase. So, next time when you read the resume of an applicant, put a glance at the keywords in the resume so that you will know what your interviewer expects you to do. The more you write, the better your chances of getting more job offers.

Tips Add up for Many Workers
Tips Add up for Many Workers âTis the season for tipping. Maybe you tip because you genuinely appreciate good service when you get it. Or maybe you tip because youâre afraid if you donât, your newspaper will end up on the neighborâs lawn every morning or youâll be the last one served at your favorite bar. But however you feel about holiday-season gratuities, tipping is a serious business for most people on the receiving end: Gratuities make up a significant part of their annual income. And new data from salary experts PayScale sheds light on just how big of a deal a tip is for people in service occupations. Casino dealers â" talented in helping us lose our money â" earn more than 50% of their income from tips, as do waitresses and bartenders. The people we ask to make us look better â" makeup artists, hairdressers, and nail-salon employees â" get nearly one-quarter of their income from tips. And if youâre throwing a party during the holidays, note that caterers, food servers and parking attendants get more than 20% of their income from tips. Who among recipients is least dependent on tipping income? According to PayScale, night club managers, hotel executive chefs and hotel front desk managers get less than 10% of their income from tips. The past few years have been tough on workers who earn gratuities. Last year, PayScale reported a 5% drop in the average hourly tips across service jobs; this year, tipping hasnât recovered from that dip. (In a separate survey, Rent.com found that 61% of apartment-dwelling tenants arenât planning to tip their building staff this year â" bad news for doormen, who PayScale.com says get 14% of their income from tips.) So, in these still shaky economic times, if youâre thinking of cutting back on your tipping generosity, just keep in mind that it can have a bigger impact than you might think. #1 Secret To Getting Noticed By Recruiters At AECOM - Work It Daily
#1 Secret To Getting Noticed By Recruiters At AECOM - Work It Daily With all of the ânoiseâ online, standing out can be a challenge, especially if youâre fighting for a job. However, just because thereâs a lot of competition for jobs on job boards doesnât mean you canât get hired. It just means that youâre not putting yourself in the right places. Companies like AECOM, multinational engineering firm, are looking for talented people like you to join their team. Thankfully, getting noticed by recruiters at AECOM isnât that hard if you have the right strategy. So, whatâs the super secret strategy? Make yourself easy to find. Sounds silly, doesnât it? Well, there are millions of talented people out there who donât make it easy for recruiters to find them, which is a shame. According to Julie Cox, Sourcing Manager of Talent Acquisition at AECOM, you canât just build yourself a LinkedIn profile and call it a day. You need to do a little more than that in order to get noticed. Here are some of her tips for getting noticed by recruiters at AECOM. Keep your resume up-to-date. âI get it,â said Cox, âyou're not actively looking for a new position. But if your dream job fell in your lap tomorrow, would you be ready?â Make sure you update your resume every few months. What have you accomplished since you updated your resume last time? âIt's easier to do this in real-time instead of thinking back on all the things you've accomplished over the past five years,â Cox said. âDon't forget that you have a lot to offer. Why not position yourself in a way that makes it easy for those with hiring influence to reach out and work with you?â Be seen in the right places. Determine the best online resources for your industry and create a presence there. Where are people going for information related to your field? How can you be seen there? Whether itâs industry events or informational websites, find a way to create a presence in places recruiters are scouting talent. Showcase the stuff recruiters are searching for. Ensure that all relevant keywords are included in your bio. According to Cox, recruiters use search engines and LinkedIn to locate top talent by keywords, location, and skill set. If youâre not being strategic about how you brand yourself online, youâre not going to be found by recruiters. So, think about what keywords and skill sets you should be putting emphasis on, and brand yourself accordingly. Setup a personal website or blog with a link to your resume. Make it easy for recruiters to find your resume and contact you! Google yourself. What comes up? When you click on the results, is there a clear way to contact you or view your credentials? If not, find a way to add your resume and/or contact information. Get Noticed By Recruiters At AECOM Getting noticed by recruiters at AECOM is much more realistic when you can make it easy for them to find you.
